Last night, the Kennedy Center hosted the 2025 Cappies National Capital Area (NCA) Gala, a prestigious event celebrating the achievements of high school theatre students and their productions, as chosen by student critics across the Greater Washington DC area.
We are proud to share that our multi-talented Yorktown Theatre Arts and Yorktown Orchestra departments received multiple honors for their outstanding work on Anything Goes.
Congratulations to those earning a 2025 Cappies NCA Award!
Matthew Aslaksen (Featured Actor in a Male Role in a Music)
Francesca Klesius (Featured Actor in a Female Role in a Musical)
The Yorktown Pit Orchestra; and
Bella Houston (Lead Actor in a Female Role in a Musical)
Cappies NCA has 46 participating schools from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. This is a highly competitive award program, with a slim 1-in-46 chance of earning a nomination in an award category--the first hurdle in the award process.

What a thrill that Yorktown garnered 10 nominations in this year's program!
