The Theatre Arts Program at Yorktown is committed to teaching students all aspects of theatre, including acting, directing, dramaturgy, playwriting and technical theatre. Students are part of an ensemble that stays together as they progress through a conservatory-style training. Each year-long course builds upon the prior year’s work. All students at all levels of study have opportunities to perform.

YHS’s Theatre Arts Program is dedicated to the personal development of the individual student and the values of creative collaboration and ensemble-building. PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Students in the Theatre Arts curriculum have opportunities to perform in several shows, and all Yorktown students may audition for Yorktown’s Spring Show. Students may also audition for the 28th Street Improv troupe. Read more about YHS shows.
